The purpose of this manual is to share the bottle school technology and methodology with the world so that people like you, and communities worldwide, can create their own bottle schools.

This manual is intended for anybody who knows of a need for educational infrastructure in their community, and who sees a big trash problem in their neighborhood as an opportunity for both environmental education and eco-friendly building.

Chapter 1 provides an introduction to bottle schools: what they are, and why (and why not) to build them.

Chapter 2 covers the important preparations that go into a bottle school project, before you get anywhere near building the school itself.

Chapter 3 shows how to construct a bottle school, led by a skilled mason and working to plans drawn up by a qualified structural engineer and architect.

Chapter 4 is about what happens after the construction is complete.

If you are considering building a bottle school, please contact us. Subject to our time constraints, we would love to support you through the process, and to learn from you too. We are always excited to refine our methods and processes to create a more sustainable and conscious system to better serve the world.

Thank you for your interest in bottle schools. We’re looking forward to your feedback!
