FINISHES

• Once the columns and beams are poured and set, and the walls are filled with eco- bricks and covered with cement, apply finishes to the columns, beams and walls.

• It is best to apply finishes after the bottles and chicken wire are installed and before measuring for doors and windows.

• Between ½cm to 1cm of cement is sufficient for the final, finishing layer.

• Clean up any rough edges around joints, edges and corners, to make the bottle school look beautiful

• Before mixing, the sand should be finely sifted. The head project masons must know how to do this.

• Be creative! Feel free to add tiles, plastic bottle caps, metal soda bottle caps, or other recycled materials for an artistic feel and to reuse more trash.
